Wow! Fantastic tour of the erupting volcano!!! The guides are geologists and explained so much about the volcano and how all the Hawaiian islands were created. The pictures I got during the day, and especially at night were incredible! The food and winery tasting were good too. I’ve done this tour twice in the past year and recommend it highly! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!! 🤙

We had a fantastic time on our Hawaii Geo Tour with Eric — even with the rain and crazy fog! Eric kept the experience fun, engaging, and full of incredible information. We also loved so many of his recommendations for places to visit and places to eat; they really helped us make the most of our trip. If you’re worried it’s going to be a “boring rock tour” or involve too much walking, don’t be! The tour is well-paced, exciting, and gives you the chance to see a huge portion of what the island has to offer without feeling overwhelmed. We had an amazing experience with Hawaii Geo Tours! Our guide, David, was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and friendly—you can truly tell he loves what he does. He’s a wealth of information, and even though the tour is long (about 11 hours from pickup to drop-off), everything ran smoothly and was very well organized. David picked us up right from our hotel, and we got to see so much of the Big Island: a local coffee farm, a stunning black sand beach, a delicious lunch at the famous Volcano House, walking through lava tubes, and down to the coast where the road ends due to lava flow. We also stopped at the Big Island Candy Company and finished the day at beautiful Rainbow Falls. It’s a long day, but the trade off was not feeling rushed. Our group included one boy 6 years old who was naturally antsy but thankfully well behaved, so families with young children should consider the long stretches in the van. That said, it was still a wonderful experience. This tour is a must-do if you’re new to the Big Island. It’s an excellent way to see a wide variety of highlights while learning about the island from a true expert.

If you are looking for a guide who combines deep scientific knowledge with a genuine passion for the island, David is the gold standard. His background in geology and botany turned the landscape into a living storybook. He didn't just show us the sights; he explained the 'why' and 'how' behind the volcanic formations in a way that kept both of our boys totally engaged. One of the best tours ever
What an excellent way to get to know the Big Island and learn about its unique place on Earth. Our tour guide Eric picked us up on time at our rented villa along with a number of other visitors and we proceeded to spend one of the better days on a tour of the island. Eric is one of the proprietors of the tour, is a degreed geologist and is truly an engaging and friendly person. The tour was excellent which combined both interesting sights and a tremendous amount of local knowledge about lava flows and local history. To say that this was worth the day spent would be to put it mildly. Even at twice the price, I would happily do this again and recommend the tour to anyone.

We had such a great time! Dave was our tour guide, and he was very entertaining and a wealth of knowledge. The sites are beautiful and we got to see a few places that we probably never would have gotten to see had we not gone on this tour. We went to a coffee farm, the Volcanoes National Park, the lava tubes, Rainbow Falls, and lots more. It was a long day, but worth every second. Very highly recommend going on the Volcano National Park Adventure!

We did the volcano tour and it was enjoyable! Very small group, only 4, which was a plus. David was knowledgeable and he entertained the atmosphere. OK lunch provided . Snake and drinks also available throughout the day. Will do again with them next time in Hawaii big island.

It was a great tour! Took lots of pics! Zane was very informative all through out the trip. Was prompt and delivered us back on time. It is an all day adventure so be prepared for a long day. He did prepare snacks and drinks for us and umbrellas or parkas if you need it. The bus was very clean and comfy.
