Geo adventure family trip for the win!
David has a vast knowledge of so much of the island it’s amazing and he charmed us with a ton a factoids the whole day. Highly recommend if you are short on time on the island but want to see as much as you can in little time.

On time pick up, knowledgeable/friendly guide.
On time pick up, knowledgeable/friendly guide. The coffee tour was short but enough to understand most of the process. It would have been nice to stop for malasadas before the black sand beach stop to pick up snacks. The drive from the black sand beach to volcano was long and snacks would have been great. (My only complaint). Lunch at volcano restaurant was a highlight. Van was comfortable and I feel it was a very good value. I would recommend.

Hawaii Geo Tours are the best!
Wow! Fantastic tour of the erupting volcano!!! The guides are geologists and explained so much about the volcano and how all the Hawaiian islands were created. The pictures I got during the day, and especially at night were incredible! The food and winery tasting were good too. I’ve done this tour twice in the past year and recommend it highly! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!! 🤙

The sites are beautiful and we got to see a few places that we probably never would have gotten to see had we not gone on this tour.
We had such a great time! Dave was our tour guide, and he was very entertaining and a wealth of knowledge. The sites are beautiful and we got to see a few places that we probably never would have gotten to see had we not gone on this tour. We went to a coffee farm, the Volcanoes National Park, the lava tubes, Rainbow Falls, and lots more. It was a long day, but worth every second. Very highly recommend going on the Volcano National Park Adventure!

GEO TOURS was easy to work with, exceptionally attentive response time to communication all questions prior to our trip.
GEO TOURS was easy to work with, exceptionally attentive response time to communication all questions prior to our trip. The cost of ANY tour and ALL tours are high in Hawaii- but for what you receive on this trip I felt that they were priced correctly in their marketplace. We stopped at interesting locations along the way: All of the ones they indicated and nothing felt like a big sales pitch anywhere which was great. If you are traveling with children be aware this is a LONG all day tour. If you're a car-sick kinda person like me - come prepared! I hate being loopy, but that's what I sacrifice to be with our whole group. Take your Bonine people! Our tour guide for our party of nine was Dave. Great guy! Knowledge, kind, engaging and obviously done this sort of thing a lot. I was a bit bummed we didn't get one of the actual geologists (as we were traveling with my brother who IS a geologist and when booking with Erik I mistakening thought he would be our tour guide that day. I knew it wasn't a private tour, and now I kind of wish I would have booked a private tour. We were so fortunate that the family we traveled with had delightful children and easy to combine our group with. What I realize in hindsight, is that it would be worth paying the price for private and having a little more wiggle room for our personal group. We were four adults and five siblings; 20,17,15,11,9. Dave on his own as a travel guide and driver was helpful, efficient, a gracious island host and very easy to be around. He didn't make up anything and was not grandiose; as some guides tend to be know-it-all-junkies. THANKS Dave for your kindness to our whole family. Thank you GEO Tours. The family voted you as their favorite vacation activity.

Excellent tour!
David was a wonderful guide! He was very knowledgeable, courteous and witty. The volcano and its history are so fascinating, as well as the coffee farming. Excellent tour!

One of the best tours ever
What an excellent way to get to know the Big Island and learn about its unique place on Earth. Our tour guide Eric picked us up on time at our rented villa along with a number of other visitors and we proceeded to spend one of the better days on a tour of the island. Eric is one of the proprietors of the tour, is a degreed geologist and is truly an engaging and friendly person. The tour was excellent which combined both interesting sights and a tremendous amount of local knowledge about lava flows and local history. To say that this was worth the day spent would be to put it mildly. Even at twice the price, I would happily do this again and recommend the tour to anyone.

We went through multiple ecosystems and learned more than I could possibly remember about the geology of the island and the Hawaiian islands in general.
My husband and I took the Volcanoes National Park tour. It stopped at quite a few places along the southern and south-eastern parts of the island as well as allowing you to experience Saddle Pass and views of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea. We went through multiple ecosystems and learned more than I could possibly remember about the geology of the island and the Hawaiian islands in general. The trade off is not having time to hike through Volcanoes National Park if you want to do that, but we preferred a chance to witness the diversity we did and not having to drive. We stopped for a good meal that had a vegan option for me (green salad), which our kosher friends were able to eat as well. The coffee we sampled at the Heavenly Hawaiian Kona Coffee farm was fabulous! Our driver David and the people at the coffee farm were kind and extremely knowledgeable. Geo Tours was organized and kind enough to pick us up at the apartment we were renting. All in all a great day!

We enjoyed our lunch at The Rim restaurant at the Volcano House Hotel in Volcanoes National Park (overlooking the Kīlauea crater).
My wife and I took the tour and had a great time! The tour van—which was in excellent condition and had big windows—arrived on time. The tour was well-organized and had a great set of stops. David gave great explanations of everything we were seeing. We had plenty of time at each stop and never felt rushed. We enjoyed our lunch at The Rim restaurant at the Volcano House Hotel in Volcanoes National Park (overlooking the Kīlauea crater). David had earlier given us a number of choices off the menu which he called into the restaurant so our food was ready shortly after we sat down. The cost of the lunch is included in the tour fee. We were lucky that there was visible activity at Kīlauea while we were there. Even during the current period of activity (since 12/2024), not nearly every day has flowing lava like we saw today. The view would still have been pretty great even without that though.
