Hawaii Geo Tours are the best!
Wow! Fantastic tour of the erupting volcano!!! The guides are geologists and explained so much about the volcano and how all the Hawaiian islands were created. The pictures I got during the day, and especially at night were incredible! The food and winery tasting were good too. I’ve done this tour twice in the past year and recommend it highly! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!! 🤙

Geo adventure family trip for the win!
David has a vast knowledge of so much of the island it’s amazing and he charmed us with a ton a factoids the whole day. Highly recommend if you are short on time on the island but want to see as much as you can in little time.

If you're staying in Kona and want a world-class experience, book David. He truly made our vacation unforgettable!
Our family (including two teenagers, ages 17 and 12) had an absolutely incredible day exploring Volcanoes National Park with David. If you are looking for a guide who combines deep scientific knowledge with a genuine passion for the island, David is the gold standard. His background in geology and botany turned the landscape into a living storybook. He didn't just show us the sights; he explained the 'why' and 'how' behind the volcanic formations in a way that kept both of our boys totally engaged. Beyond his superior expertise, David is just a fun-loving person to be around. He shared wonderful stories that gave us a real feel for the culture and history of Hawaii, and he went above and beyond to tailor the day so we could truly appreciate the most dramatic views. He made what could have been a long day of driving feel like an effortless, awesome adventure. If you're staying in Kona and want a world-class experience, book David. He truly made our vacation unforgettable!

My boyfriend and I have been in Hawaii for over two weeks and done many tours here, but this by far was our favorite one.
DEAR READER- STOP RIGHT NOW! IF YOU ARE ON THE BIG ISLAND- YOU NEED TO TAKE THIS TOUR!!!!! BOOK IT. David was an INCREDIBLE tour guide. My boyfriend and I have been in Hawaii for over two weeks and done many tours here, but this by far was our favorite one. We learned so much. David was so incredibly kind and informative. You could tell he genuinely cares about the volcanos, the island, the people and animals who live here, and the guests on the tour. He took the time to get to know everybody and he was SO GOOD with names and remembering people. He knew amazing details and stories about the island and the volcano and the coffee farm. My boyfriend is absolutely fascinated with volcanos and said it was his “once in a lifetime tour.” It was the perfect amount of guests too. Not too crowded. Amazing stops, each one was worthwhile. And- a very comfortable and clean van. DID YOU BOOK??? DO IT!

Best Island Tour!
A must tour experience! Such an incredible day. What is unique about This tour, is how much you learn about the island formation and the flexibility in where he takes you! We traveled with friends and booked the VIP tour…if you can swing it, definitely put Geotours on your itinerary! Erik will not disappoint. You can see that he is passionate about the island and what he does. Mingled well with our group, lots of laughs, great energy and had a BLAST!!!

Will do again with them next time in Hawaii big island.
We did the volcano tour and it was enjoyable! Very small group, only 4, which was a plus. David was knowledgeable and he entertained the atmosphere. OK lunch provided . Snake and drinks also available throughout the day. Will do again with them next time in Hawaii big island.

We enjoyed our lunch at The Rim restaurant at the Volcano House Hotel in Volcanoes National Park (overlooking the Kīlauea crater).
My wife and I took the tour and had a great time! The tour van—which was in excellent condition and had big windows—arrived on time. The tour was well-organized and had a great set of stops. David gave great explanations of everything we were seeing. We had plenty of time at each stop and never felt rushed. We enjoyed our lunch at The Rim restaurant at the Volcano House Hotel in Volcanoes National Park (overlooking the Kīlauea crater). David had earlier given us a number of choices off the menu which he called into the restaurant so our food was ready shortly after we sat down. The cost of the lunch is included in the tour fee. We were lucky that there was visible activity at Kīlauea while we were there. Even during the current period of activity (since 12/2024), not nearly every day has flowing lava like we saw today. The view would still have been pretty great even without that though.
